History

The Dalby & District Rugby Football Club ‘The Wheatmen’ was established in 1964.

The club draws players and supporters from not only the Dalby area but also the communities of Bell, Cecil Plains, Chinchilla, Oakey, Moonie and Kingaroy. Our club has a proud and successful history taking home the Risdon Cup, B Grade, C Grade and Under 19/20’s trophies in the following years:

The Dalby & District Rugby Football Club currently has around 330 registered junior, teenage boys and girls, women’s and senior players. We have a team in every grade from Under 6’s through to A Grade level.

Our senior players compete in the Darling Downs Rugby Competition which runs from March through to September each year. The Dalby Rugby Union Club adheres to the Downs Rugby Code of Conduct in conjunction with the ARU Code of Conduct.

The Dalby Rugby Union holds various social fundraising events throughout the year including Ladies Day, Old Boys Day, Jellybaby Day, Sponsors Day, Presentation Night and Trivia Night.

The Dalby and District Wheatmen is a club which actively encourages long lasting friendships through a family friendly environment. Breeding success and passion in our rugby as we strive for continual improvement both on and off the field. We are committed to growing the unity between the club and the community and attracting members and players from across the Downs.
